This passage is about Nehemiah’s appeal to the Persian king for the sake of Israel’s restoration. Nehemiah advocates for his people, even though he is fearful, and finds favor with the king. This leads us to the themes of advocacy and timing. We pray to remain steadfast in prayer to discern when our moments for action have come and take these chances to bravely advocate for ourselves and others
